To Wick or Not to Wick
There are lots of alcohol stoves out there. Some with wicks, some without. When designing our stoves we took a good hard look at adding a wick to the base of the stove to aid in priming. After lots of testing we decided the reflector/priming pan was a better choice. Here's why - after lots of use wicks eventually wear out and become brittle and need to be replaced. Not an easy task and not something we think you should have to do.
The reflector/priming pan we supply serves two purposes. It holds several drops of alcohol to prime the stove and reflects heat back to the base of the stove helping with performance especially during cooler temperatures. Something a wick does not do. And primer pans are easily replaced. The bottom of a Pringles can makes an outstanding primer pan.
The Blue-Torch is the big brother of the Blue-Mini.
This stove is a real power house. It was designed to work with larger pots like the Evernew 1.3L, the Evernew900 ml or other similar sized wide bottom pots.
